So this is my 3rd review and so far all I’ve seen from plus size clothing stores are fairly boring clothes are ridiculously high prices… Curvissa isn’t much different.
I’ll say I like a lot more of the clothes here, a lot more caught my eye but once again I was totally stunned by the prices, so far this is the most expensive store I’ve come across which upsets me since they have some stunning clothing.
The tops this time around were a lot more stylish and fitted with a massive variety, no matter what your taste you’d find something here you like.
again the thing drawing me in the most were the dresses, some stunning evening dresses here.. once again I fell in love with two teal coloured maxi’s with embellishments at the waste

this is the Glamorous Gem Detail Maxi Dress that also comes in black and red but for £130 I couldn’t believe it. no way.

and then there was this, the Grecian Evening Maxi Dress this one also comes in black and is also a ridiculous £130… I love them both but I could never afford that.
and then this caught my eye
I was very much underwhelmed by the jeans, they were all very similar with not a single pair of skinny jeans! us fatties want skinny jeans too!
as with everything else they sell the knit wear is overly expensive, I’m not spending £40 on a cardigan unless it’s like completely covered in crystals.
The underwear here is generic plus size underwear, very bland and unattractive… until I found these total gems!

Oh my! sexy or what!?! the panties are £18 and go up to a size 28! and the bra is £22 but only goes up to a 44D which is somewhat disappointing but boy, I’d buy these in a heart beat!
The swimwear here is a lot less boring than evans, but I can’t say any of it particularly caught my eye.
Another thing letting curvissa down is that the shoes here are a lot more for comfort than fashion, not that it’s a bad thing exactly, but if you’re buying one of their beautiful evening gowns you’re hardly going to bung on some crocs to go with it.
Curvissa gets a 10/10 for style but a 1/10 for cost.
Now I’ve never really ventured in to Evans with the intention of buying something for myself, my mother used to shop there often and it all seemed a little bit too mature for me, most of it seemed better suited to ladies of 30+
I decided I’d have a look at their website to see if I’d change my opinion of them. I feel they have improved their range a lot since my last visit, with a lot of items that would suit younger fatties.
Sadly though I’d still say I would never personally shop there, after browsing through their tops and shirts all I could see were ugly shapeless sacks, all of which seemed VERY over priced, £19.50 for a plain black t-shirt? are you mad!
The dresses made me think twice though, some beautiful shapes and styles and a fair few that I would be more than happy to own, I fell totally in love with this particular one:

the “Ice blossom cross over maxi dress” I love the colour and the embellishments on the front and the straps. at £75 though I feel it’s too much. once again I’m having the same problem I had with marisota in thinking that plus size fashion is just TOO expensive! and I’d be okay with that, but I don’t feel any of these items are special or nice enough to pay that kind of price!
I was quite happy to see that they had some brightly coloured jeans, I’ve seen everyone wearing them but they’re so hard to find in plus sizes! for £35 though, it’s a bit much for me but actually not a bad price!
Another thing that impressed me about Evans though was the lingerie, they didn’t have a massive range but the items they did have were very pretty! now being a 36G I often find it VERY hard to find cute/sexy bras in my size, but these from what I could tell go up to at least an H cup! and with the cheapest bra at £14 and the most expensive at £26 I’d say if I were to ever shop here, it would be for a decent bra.
After being so impressed by the underwear I thought for sure the swimwear would be just as good.. WRONG! I mean fair they all look good quality and like they’d fit well.. but they’re just so boring! an awful lot of black… I think I spotted a leopard one piece but I’ve seen nicer.
Lastly we come to the shoes, and actually I quite liked them, I often find that wide fitting shoes are all very granny like and hideous but I found these

and omg I want them so badly! they look so comfortable, the heel isn’t too high (great for me, I love heels but I hate wearing them haha) and they have a padded sole for extra comfort, they’re currently £15 on sale down from £29 and if I had £15 I’d buy them right this second.
So to sum up, Evans have greatly improved their range but still have a fair way to go, if you can afford to spend a little extra then you may just find something here.
I decided to take a look at some plus size stores and review them, since I’m lucky enough to be at the very top end of high street sizes I very rarely have to shop in specifically plus size stores.
I can tell you now that I will never shop at Marisota, on first glance I wasn’t massively impressed by the fact that a store aimed at plus size ladies uses none plus sized models. We want to see how the clothes fit on OUR bodies, on our flab and rolls.. not on these flat little tummies!
second thing I noticed instantly were the prices, I personally thought they were unreasonable.
after looking through all the pages I had only found ONE garment to my taste

The Georgette spot dress comes in uk sizes 12 to 32.
and it is £65!!!!
it’s nice but… I’ve seen similar things in high street stores for £15ish! problem with all those is you’ll be lucky to find them any bigger than a size 20.
One thing I can say for Marisota is they have some quite nice swimwear, again nothing really my taste and all pretty expensive but looks decent!
Basically, I am not impressed.
